Catching Up, Canker Sores, Word of Mouth Wednesday and PayPal

What a headline, right?!?!  Who combines catching up, with canker sores, Word of Mouth Wednesday and PayPal?  Apparently we do!!

It’s starting out as a typical crazy fun busy new year at Family Dental Care Park Ridge.  You may have received our email reminding you that, now that the holidays are over, there is no time like the present to make that long over-due dental appointment!  One of the many things that I am extremely proud of is Richard’s ability to get you an appointment when it works best for you! So call Richard at 847-692-6800 or request an appointment online by clicking the Request An Appointment button on our website.

This week, one of our patients was asking about canker sores.  They were frustrated because they seemed to get canker sores so frequently.  They wanted to know if this was “normal”.  I first directed them to this very comprehensive article on WebMD that deals with canker sores.  And then, after doing a clinical exam that verified that it was, in fact, a canker sore, I reassured them that time was the best medicine. Evaluating your dietary intake is also important in reducing the potential for further outbreaks as is reducing stress as much as possible.  Canker sores are actually very common and usually last about 7-14 days.  If you are unsure as to whether or not you have a canker sore in your mouth, give us a call to schedule an appointment for a quick peek to see what the problem may be.  We work closely with our patients to diagnose and discuss canker sore treatment.  The WebMD article has a lot of useful information with respect to canker sores that may be helpful until you get in to see us!

My dear friend Gini has patiently waited for us to resume our Word of Mouth Wednesday feature and, as a thank you to Gini for her patience and loyalty, when Word of Mouth Wednesday returns, the first segment will deal with tori…a topic that she had suggested.  So, stay tuned for the return of Word of Mouth Wednesday and learn all about tori!

And, finally, what could we possible have to say about PayPal?  Well….Family Dental Care Park Ridge is proud to now offer the ability to pay your bill using PayPal!  If you go to our website, you will see a Pay Now button that is linked to PayPal.  If you have a PayPal account and you wish to make a payment on your account, all you need to do is click the Pay Now button and the rest is easy!  We want to make your entire experience at Family Dental Care Park Ridge positive and easy. Having Pay Pal available will help!

And remember, as always…we LOVE making you smile!

Did you like the cool caricature of me on this post? Complete with a nod to Calvin & Hobbes! A very special thanks to Erin Feldman for chibifying our office!  You are incredibly talented!  We love you Erin!

Thanks for sharing the info on canker sore, interesting about diet's effect on it too. Stress, what doesn't it affect?
