Different Toothbrushes for Different Needs
A toothbrush is not a toothbrush is not a toothbrush….all toothbrushes are not created equal. However, do not panic!
There is a toothbrush that is perfect for your dental needs!
It makes sense when you think about it. You wouldn’t give your three year old the same style toothbrush that you use. You wouldn’t use a toothbrush for sensitive teeth to clean dentures. You wouldn’t use a thin handled toothbrush for people that have difficulty with fine motor movements.
So, how do you figure out what type of toothbrush is the best for your dental needs?
The best way is to ask your dentist, your hygienist, your orthodontist or your periodontist. These are the professionals that know your dental health needs like no one else. They know if electric is the way to go. They know if ultra soft bristles are the way to go. They know if specialized toothbrush heads for braces is the way to go. They know what your child’s age group toothbrush needs are. At Family Dental Care Park Ridge, as in many dental offices, when you come in for your check up and cleaning, you walk away with some SWAG…a goody bag with the appropriate manual toothbrush in it as well as some toothpaste and floss. It’s a win/win!
