In this segment of Word of Mouth Wednesday, Dr. Claudia Anderson talks about CAVITIES…that awful word that sends shivers down our spines. She will talk about the ongoing process of remineralization and demineralization and explain what those terms mean. Dr. Anderson will talk about how certain types of bacteria that live in your mouth are particularly attracted to sugars and, when ingesting the sugars, release acids that destroy your enamel, causing decay. Dr. Anderson will also address the different types of diagnostic tools used in detecting decay in teeth.
